Patient Information
Your health care team consists of many professionals working together to make your experience with us the best it can be! Alliance Medical Care Centers puts patient satisfaction at the top of our list. We have assembled the best staff from physicians and nurses to security personnel to make your stay with us enjoyable. We hope the time you and your loved ones spend with us meets or exceeds your expectations. Please let us know if you have suggestions for improvements.
During Your Stay Your Room
Room assignments are based upon admitting diagnosis and the bed availability at the time of your admission. Private and semi-private rooms are available. Medical insurance usually does not cover the full cost of a private room. If you are in a semi-private room and wish to be in a private room, please tell your nurse. If there are problems with the other patient or family members in a semi-private room, please let your nursing staff know the details.
Your Bed
Hospital beds are electrically operated, and your nurse will show you how to work the controls. Bedrails are for your protection. They may be raised during the night or during the day if you are resting, recovering from surgery, or taking certain medications.
Calling Your Nurse
A button to call your nurse or nursing assistant is located at your bedside. When you press the button, the nursing station is alerted that you need assistance and a light flashes above your door in the hallway. A staff member will respond to your signal as soon as possible.
Room Temperature
All hospital rooms are centrally heated and air-conditioned. If your room temperature is not comfortable, please notify your nursing staff.
Telephones
Telephones are provided in each room, except in intensive care units. Local calls may be made at any time from the room by dialing 8 and the number. Long-distance and toll calls can be made at any time by dialing 8, 0 and the number. Long-distance calls cannot be charged to your room. You can charge a long-distance or credit card call to your home number. Your family and friends can call your room at the telephone number posted in your room. Press “0” to call the hospital operator at any time for assistance.
Noise Level
Excessive noise in the hospital is sometimes difficult to control. We appreciate your understanding and working with us to maintain a low noise level for everyone. If there is a problem with the noise level in your surrounding area, please notify your nursing staff.
Patient Safety
When seeing a new physician at the hospital for a procedure or inpatient stay, you often have lots of questions and many things to think about. Keeping track of which medications you are taking is an important part of staying healthy. Please inform your health care provider and family members of the drug name, dosage, frequency, and use of each medication you are taking.
Medical Records
Patients may request a copy of their complete medical record. An authorization form must be signed by the patient or a personal representative before records will be released. The medical record department will complete the chart in 30 days or less, and Alliance Medical Care Center policy requires that a chart be complete before it is released.
Patient Satisfaction
Because we value your opinion, you will receive a confidential patient satisfaction survey in the mail about one week after your discharge from Alliance Medical Care Center. Please take the time to complete the form and return it in the postage-paid envelope provided. Your feedback will help us improve our services and reward our staff for their very good work. If you have any questions or concerns during your hospital stay, please call the VIP Hotline at 210-595-9958 ext 8 or Patient Relations at 210-595-9958 ext 9 for assistance.
Tobacco-Free Policy
Alliance Medical Care Center is a tobacco-free environment, both inside and out. Tobacco use of any kind including electronic devices (e.g., smoking, dipping, vapes, etc.) is not permitted anywhere on campus. We undertook this initiative to improve the health of the people and communities we serve. We appreciate the support of the entire community, as we move toward a healthier environment for our patients, visitors, and employees.
Limited Latex Environment
Due to the number of people with latex allergies, Alliance Medical Care Center is now a latex-free environment. Latex balloons are not allowed at Alliance Medical Care Center.
Patient Meals
Nourishing meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery at Alliance Medical Care Center. We make every effort to provide nutritious meals prepared according to your physician’s orders under the supervision of our executive chef and registered dietitians. A copy of the weekly menu is in your room. Meals are served at times listed on the menu. Menus are tailored to any dietary restrictions your doctor may have ordered. If you miss one or more meals because of tests or surgery, your meals will resume as soon as your physician allows.
